AMPEL-SBQMI 42-strong bike team was named among the 3-top performing UBC teams in HUB’s recent Spring Go-By-Bike-Week event, held May 30 – June 5, 2022. UBC Campus and Community Planning awarded the UBC Commuter Challenge Trophy to 3 top performing teams, of which AMPEL-SBQMI was recognized for signing up the greatest number of new participants over previous years. The team also logged the highest average number of trips per rider and placed second in the most-kilometers-cycled category. Other teams sharing top honours were EOAS Team “Gaia” for logging the most kilometers, and SHCS Team “Road Warriors” with the highest average kilometers cycled per rider. Together the 3 top teams accounted for nearly half of the 22,500 km logged by UBC’s 60 teams taking part in the event. Congratulations to all participants!
