About
AMPEL

Much of the research is carried out by graduate students who are registered in one of the four member departments: Chemistry,Electrical and Computer Engineering, Metals and Materials Engineering, and Physics and Astronomy.
If you are interested in joining AMPEL as a graduate student you should apply to the graduate program of one of the member departments.
Other people who do research in AMPEL include co-op students, undergraduate project students and summer students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, research engineers, visitors from industry and more than 20 faculty members from member departments.
BCSI is an organization that was set up a few years ago to foster BC provincial support for beamlines at the CLS.
The presence of scientists and engineers from different departments gives students the opportunity to experience the different cultures of the various science and engineering disciplines involved in materials research.
